The Rockwellist Recommends: Your Rainy Day Must-Haves

The gloomy skies are here but don’t let the downpour get you down. Stay dry, comfy, and cozy with dishes that will warm you up, stylish waterproof wear, and so much more– recommended by your Rockwellists.

Don’t let the rain stop you from dressing (and eating) well

Level up your outfit in this rainy weather with Harlan + Holden’s Twill Panel Top in Dark Stone color. Whether you wear it as a top or outerwear, this versatile piece will make sure to keep things cozy and fashionable. Don’t just look good, but eat good as well this season, with Chef Jessie’s Classic French Onion Soup. Sweet and caramelized onions, rich flavorful broth, melted Gruyère cheese on top, the classic French Onion Soup is the ultimate comfort food that warms your heart and palate. Chef Jessie never disappoints.

Sit back and relax this rainy season

The weather may be a downer but that doesn’t mean you can’t sit back and relax in the comfort of your home with the Philux Palma Armchair. Snuggle up in this lounge chair from Philux, perfect for being a home buddy during the rainy season. You can cozy up to a cup of Wildflour’s Pistachio Au Lait, the perfect mix of sweet and warm to wind down, or get pumped up.

Rainy day reads, eats, and, stylish finds

On a cold and rainy night, it is always nice to curl up with a good book. These two titles I got from Fullybooked feature my favorite writers at the moment, Ocean Vuong and Sally Rooney. I also went around the mall and found these pieces I covet, a Fred Perry hooded parka and Paul Smith white sneakers that seem water-repellent, both perfect for the rainy season ahead. Last but not least, for tonight’s dinner, it’ll be a comforting bowl of Laksa from Babu, from the Grid Food Market.

Rest and sleep easy in these all-natural bamboo sheets

With this cozy weather, slipping into ultra smooth and soft sheets is such a luxury, and these Bamboo Lyocell sheets from Doze Days are the best. Add into the equation a bottle of Diptyque’s Fleur de Peau (my favorite cocooning scent) and a nice cup of Gentle Sleep tea by Oh, Holiday!, and I’m never gonna leave this bed.

Hot meals on a cold day

Nothing says rainy season better than slurping on a hot bowl of ramen. Your trip to Marudori would not be complete without some Shoyu Paitan, a crowd favorite bowl of soy goodness. Their gyoza, made with a blend of chicken, seasoning, and veggies is definitely a must-try. I always enjoy the flavorful umami trip, with a delicious grilled chicken thigh right smack in the midst of the warm broth.

Staying cute and dry with this fashion staple

My rainy day favorite would have to be the signature dumpling bag from Beyond The Vines. It’s lightweight, made of textured, water-resistant nylon, and comes in different sizes and colors. Even their micro bag can fit a ton! Its strap is also adjustable for multiway wearing, perfect for a fashionable, and an on-the-go lifestyle, despite the storm clouds.

Day-to-day essentials

Make sure you and your belongings stay safe and dry. With Signet’s Orcival Parka and the Finch backpack from TUMI, I can do just that. This parka is perfect for the rainy days, making sure I stay dry in style. With the Finch backpack from TUMI, I have a resilient, modern bag with enough space, pockets, and a dedicated compartment where I can fit all my belongings like my laptop. To top it all off, I can rest and relax after a stressful day as long as I have my Bun Bo Hue Pork and Beef Pho from HuChi. A warm bowl with pulled pork and marinated beef, with housemade meatballs, Vietnamese ham, some rice noodles, herbs, and spicy paste, it is just perfect for rainy nights and slow days.

Rainy day relaxation

Rainy days can mean limited outdoor activities, but being stuck at home doesn’t have to be boring, when you have the right items around you. Thanks to Muji’s Ultrasonic Aroma Diffuser, I get to make sure my home environment is always fresh and pleasant, whether it’s in my bedroom or work area. Another favorite of mine for the cozy days spent inside is the Arroz Caldo of Merienda by Pan de Manila. Located in Santolan Town Plaza, in San Juan, Merienda by Pan de Manila makes a delicious Arroz Caldo and as a rainy day staple, perfect for cozy days at home.

Fashion meets function for the rainy occasion

No matter how many rainy seasons pass by, an umbrella is always gonna be a constant. With The Rockwellist Umbrella, I get to enjoy its functionality while flaunting its sleekness and sophistication. I was able to get this on shop.TheRockwellist.com but you can actually get it for free once you accumulate enough Rockwellist Rewards points. Another rainy season find I’d recommend are the Men’s Multi-Vent shoes by Ecco. They’re highly water repellent, lightweight, and feature high-quality leather lining for premium feel and breathability. These shoes have style, comfort, traction, and protection perfectly suited for the rainy season.

Satisfied cozy day cravings

A must have for any rainy day when I’m out is the Tory Burch 95 mm Miller Lug Sole Bootie in black. It’s fashionable, protects my feet from the rain, and I don’t get that fear of getting the boots soaked. Finally, perfect for cold afternoons or after meal drinks is Marks & Spencer’s Green Tea with Lemon Infusion. This crisp and refreshing light Chinese green tea features that delicious lemon taste, and it really is the perfect way for me to end a meal on a good note.

An ultimate must-have for the season

Don’t venture out into the rain without Uniqlo’s water-repellant Utility Parka. Breathable yet waterproof, this comfy parka features a versatile design for casual wear and more. One of my main go-to snacks during the rainy season is the Triple Choco Mallow from Mo’ Cookies. Its mix of three chocolate varieties gives a cozy yet exquisite flavor, especially when paired with a light hot tea or coffee.
