Bueno serves Spanish dishes inspired by central Spain. Everything from the ingredients, to the wine selection, down to the cooking method, add to Bueno’s authentic flavors. Plus, co-owner and Executive Chef Ken Alfonso basked in Spanish food culture when he spent time training in Madrid and San Sebastian.
“Bueno”—which literally translates to “good”—captures exactly what one can expect from this tapas and wine restaurant. Whether or not dad is a foodie, he’ll appreciate Bueno’s exquisite dishes. Here’s what to order along with some tapas, croquetas, and chorizo and quezo plates:
The Pulpo ala Gallega (P490) makes for an interesting starter. This grilled galician octopus dish looks good, too.
Relatively new to the menu is their Paella de Cochinillo con Trufa. Nope, it’s not a typo. Yup, you really get two Spanish favorites in one dish: cochinillo belly on truffled paella!
End the meal by digging into a Tarta de Queso. After all, sweet dreams are made of cheese— more specifically, in basque-burnt-cheesecake-with-port-wine form.
Then raise your glasses to the man of the hour with a Bueno Sangria (Pitcher P790, Glass P280).
If your dad likes low-key celebrations, perhaps you could invite him out to celebrate on a weekday. Bueno serves free-flowing Sangria from 2:00pm to 6:00pm, Monday to Thursday.
