Our local versions, cooked in secret oils and spices are just as amazing, and judging from the always full restos offering this humble dish, we are definitely doing something right.
The Buttermilk Fried Chicken fingers are easily Fireside’s best seller, as every table had ordered them on the day we tried it. The chicken is brined for 24 hours and rolled into Cajun Ritz breading before it’s deep fried to perfection. Served with cornbread doughnuts (with honey and gravy for the fingers on the side) to counter the rich flavor, it’s the ideal combination of sweet and savory.
Pancake House’s fried chicken has garnered a loyal following, and rightfully so, as the recipe has remained consistent through the years. We tried it with their signature waffles and again as part of their lunch meals—both were just as good and satisfying! The tangy, sour bite makes it one of a kind, almost homemade in feel and taste, making it the ultimate comfort food choice.
The burger connoisseurs have recently ventured into chicken wings and we have to admit, their parmesan flavored variant is as unique as it gets. No ingredient was scrimped on, especially the fresh grated cheese on top that seeps into the flesh injecting it with so much flavor and goodness!
